CONTINUING A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE
Ivo Textiles is an independent, family-owned textile printing company founded in 1963 by Ivo Tonder, along with Ellen and Victor Haas. It quickly gained recognition for printing fashion textiles for renowned designers such as Celia Birtwell, Ossie Clark, Zandra Rhodes, and Biba.
Ellen and Victor’s son, Michael, spent his summers as a teenager working at the company, pushing a squeegee across screens. What began as a planned gap year turned into a commitment when, in 1969, he spent two weeks making screens at his parents’ request—and he never left.
Michael took over the business in the early Eighties, dedicating himself to its growth. He has been involved in every aspect, from installing and maintaining print machinery to programming the order processing system still in use today. He is known for creatively repurposing outdated machinery to enhance the facilities. Over the years, the company has steadily expanded and now operates from a 37,000-square-foot facility in West London, conveniently located near Heathrow Airport for easy access to UK and international customers. Ivo Textiles currently employs 47 skilled craftsmen and technicians dedicated to the production process.
The focus has increasingly shifted toward interior textiles, creating fabrics for some of England’s most notable stately homes, as well as embassies and hotels worldwide. They collaborate with top interior decorators to produce unique, specialised pieces, alongside conventional stock ranges and large panel prints. Additionally, the company supplies fabrics and wallpapers for various markets, including fashion, promotional, display, and novelty industries.
